Political analyst Ben Aris and I joined India’s WION on Wednesday for a 13-minute analysis of Ukraine’s pressure on the Kremlin’s 52-month full-scale invasion.

We explore the damage from Ukrainian counter-attacks inside Russia and on Russian-occupied territory including the Crimea Peninsula.

We consider the effect on Russian energy, with fuel rationing across more than 50 regions. We look at economic consequences, with a spiralling Government deficit, stagnation, and cuts in non-military programs.

And we ask if Russia can continue to occupy Crimea, now banning fuel sales except to the military and essential services, as Ukraine threatens to cut it off with strikes on bridges, logistics, and military positions.
