Thursday’s Coverage: Russia’s Mass Drone and Missile Strikes Kill 19+, Wound 150+
Russia murdered at least 24 civilians, including three children, and injured at least 48 in missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Thursday.
The mass killing came amid Russia’s record-setting aerial assault on Wednesday and Thursday, with around 1,600 drones and scores of missiles. Yesterday’s attacks included 675 drones and 56 missiles.
Most of the fatalities occurred when a Kh-101 missile demolished a residential building on the eastern bank of the city. Another 17 people were missing as of Thursday night.
Final death toll: 24. Three children among those. 48 injured, including two children. After 28 hours of digging through the rubble of one stairwell of one apartment building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district, Ukraine's State Emergency Service ended the rescue.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky remarked in a video message:
“This is a deliberate terrorist tactic by the Russians, who amassed drones and missiles over a period of time and intentionally calculated the strike so that its scale would be significant, creating the greatest possible difficulties for our air defense.
It was a Kh-101 missile that struck a residential building in Kyiv, according to preliminary data.

Zelensky instructed Ukraine’s military to prepare “possible formats for our response”.
Ukrainian drones hit military and energy infrastructure across Russia early Friday, including the Ryazan oil refinery, around 122 miles southeast of Moscow.
Videos and photos on social media showed a large fire after resident reported drones and explosions near the refinery,
Ryazan is one of Russia’s largest refineries, producing more than 17.1 million tons of oil per year.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha is seeking a United Nations Security Council meeting “to respond to Russia’s killings of Ukrainian civilians and attacks against humanitarian personnel”.
“Such scale of Russian terror necessitates strong international responses and I request all states to react,” Sybiha posted.
