I joined Monocle 24’s Andrew Mueller on Wednesday to analyze what President Joe Biden has — and has not — done to contain the Omicron surge of Coronavirus in the US.

Listen from 2:35:

In the context of the Biden Administration’s actions after the disinformation and mismanagement of Donald Trump, I note the increase in testing and vaccinations. At the same time, I consider how Biden has been limited over containment measures by the ongoing anti-vaxxer and anti-requirement movements.

I also cast an eye over the Administration’s first year, from the highs on the domestic front — responsible Government, an infrastructure bill, pursuit of social and environmental measures — to the low of the hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan and the uncertainty of confrontation with China.

Joe Biden sacrificed the Afghan people for the sake of his politics back home.

But when it comes to a scorecard for Biden or any other US politicians, do Americans really care?
