Followers of Donald Trump besiege US Capitol, January 6, 2021 (Kenny Holston/New York Times)

The US political system is at a critical point. A former President is being tried in the Senate for incitement of insurrection. The death toll from Coronavirus will reach 500,000 this month, and the economy is still in the midst of a serious downturn, with millions unemployed in the past year. Social and racial issues have been highlighted by mass marches, and damage from the Trump Administration must be repaired from immigration to climate change to health care.

But is recovery possible, with the Biden Administration in office but the Republican Party fragmented by Trumpism?

World Unfiltered speaks with a leading Turkish analyst of US affairs, Yunus Emre Erdölen.
