UPDATE, 1930 GMT:

I spoke with Monocle 24’s Tom Edwards on Monday afternoon about the latest developments around the Coronavirus crisis, Donald Trump, and action at Federal and State level.

The chat includes Trump’s misinformation and lies about social distancing, the situation around the supply to life-saving ventilators, and an order not to communicate with certain governors.

Listen from 10:40:

Donald Trump’s behavior will not wash with *some* of the American public. But Trump can swing 180 degrees in a minute and he’ll still have some people who will back away because he will turn this back on the media and say, “This is all just fake news.”…

This is not just Trump lying and spreading disinformation on a daily basis. It’s preventing any coordinated effort by the Federal Government.

I chatted on Saturday with Alexis Conran and Gloria de Piero about Donald Trump’s alpha-male posturing v. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, the lack of confidence among Administration officials in their President, and the uncertainty over US elections.
