Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell listens as Donald Trump speaks
In our latest journey across Trump-Land, I joined talkRADIO’s Alexis Conran on Saturday to explain Donald Trump’s racist rhetoric against four Democratic Congresswomen, and to assess the response of the Republican Party’s legislators heading into the 2020 US elections.
While breaking down Trump’s tactics and the failure of most Republicans to repudiate them, we also set the racism in the context of an ongoing US struggle between discrimination, bigotry, and the idea of the American “melting pot”.
As the four Congresswomen said this week, this is the continuation of the civil rights struggle.
You never get there on civil rights. You have to say, with each generation, “This is for all Americans and not just for some.”
