Washington Post photographer Helen Levine, hospitalized after she was beaten by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, October 16, 2026

I joined Pakistan TV’s Sana Maqbool on Monday to analyze the escalating attacks by Israel’s settlers in the West Bank on Palestinians and now on journalists and diplomats.

On Friday, settlers assaulted Palestinians during the annual olive harvest. They beat Washington Post photographer Helen Levine, seriously injuring her.

On Saturday, diplomats from Belgium, France, Poland, and the Catholic Church were attacked.

I set the violence in the context of the Israeli Government’s expanding occupation of the West Bank, supporting the settlers with new construction which divides the northern and southern parts.

And I consider if any effective response can be made to check the illegal activity.
