Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukrainian forces have struck a Russian Karakurt-class missile ship, a patrol boat, and a tanker of Moscow’s shadow fleet in the port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea.
“Significant damage has also been caused to the infrastructure of the oil-loading port,” he posted.
Ukraine struck two other shadow fleet vessels near the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk earlier in the day.

UPDATE 1104 GMT:
At least 10 civilians have been murdered and 76 injured by Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past day.
In the Odesa region in the south, two people were killed and five wounded (see 0657 GMT).
In the Sumy region in the northeast, a 45-year-old man was slain and 17 people injured, including a 2-year-old child and two boys aged 10 and 11.
In the Donetsk region in the east, two civilians were murdered and nine injured.
In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, two people were slain and five wounded, including a child.
In the neighboring Kherson region, two people were murdered and 31 injured, including three children.
Casualties were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv regions.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukrainian sea drones have struck two Russian “shadow fleet” vessels, used to transport oil, near the port of Novorossiysk in southwest Russia.
Our warriors continue to apply sanctions against Russia’s shadow oil fleet – two such vessels were struck in the waters at the entrance to the port of Novorossiysk. Ukraine’s drones also carried out another attack on the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk.
Primorsk suspended the loading of Russian oil for export in late March after Ukrianian attacks.
UPDATE 0657 GMT:
Two civilians have been murdered and five injured by Russian strikes on Odesa city in southern Ukraine.
Residential buildings, port facilities, and equipment have been damaged.
Russia also struck energy infrastructure, causing power outages, in the neighboring Mykolaiv region.
In the Sumy region in northeast Ukraine, two police officers have been wounded, one critically and one seriously.
UPDATE 0632 GMT:
Russia recorded a monthly net loss of territory in Ukraine in April, assesses the Institute for the Study of War.
The monthly loss is Moscow’s first since a Ukraine counter-offensive in 2023.
ISW estimates that Russian forces lost control of 116 square km (44.8 square miles) in April.
The monitor Deep State assesses that Russia gained 141 square km (54.4 square miles) during the month, 12% less than in March.
Russia’s gradual advances have been declining since November, as Ukraine makes effective use of drone defense. Moscow has been further hampered by the cut-off of Starlink terminals to its troops in February.

Ukraine’s air defenses downed 249 of 268 drones fired by Russia overnight.
The Russians also launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile.
The missile and 19 drones struck 15 locations.
ORIGINAL ENTRY: Russia carried out mass drone strikes on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv late Saturday night.
The Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning of approaching Russian UAVs jsut before 10 p.m. An hour later, air defenses fired on the drones. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported explosions and urged residents to take shelter.
Monitoring groups reported up to 30 drones. Attacks continued into the early morning.
Casualties and damage are being assessed. Firefighters extinguished blazes in three homes and a two-story residential building, with flames spreading to two adjacent structures.
On Friday, Russia targeted western Ukraine in a rare daytime attack. At least 12 people were wounded in Ternopil, around 130 km (80 miles) from the Polish border, by dozens of Iran-type attack drones. local businesses and infrastructure were damaged.
On Saturday, two civilians were murdered by a Russian drone attack on a bus stop in Kherson city in southern Ukraine. More than 40 people were injured across the country, including two teenage boys with shrapnel wounds and traumatic brain injuries in Kherson.
