EA on WION: US-Israel War — Iran Puts Another Proposal to Trump Camp
UPDATE 2029 GMT:
A cargo vessel has been struck by an unknown projectile within the Strait of Hormuz.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said the environmental impact is unknown, as authorities investigate.
UPDATE 1751 GMT:
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards has issued a new message to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
All vessels intending to transit the Strait are warned that the only safe route for passage through the Strait of Hormuz is the corridor previously announced by Iran. Any deviation from this route is unsafe and will be met with firm action by the IRGC Navy.
UPDATE 1625 GMT:
At a morning press conference, US Joint Chiefs of Staff chair Gen. Dan Caine said Iran has fired at commercial vessels nine times and seized two container ships.
Caine said the Iranian attacks fell below the threshold of restarting major combat operations at this point.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Donald Trump declined to say what Iran would have to do to violate the ceasefire.
“You’ll find out because I’ll let you know when they do,” Trump said. “They know what not to do.”
UPDATE 1003 GMT:
Iran has shifted its line over Monday’s missile and drone strikes on the UAE (see Original Entry).
Tehran initially denied responsibility. However, an official said Iran had “no pre-planned program” to attack oil facilities in the Emirates.
He implied that Tehran had responded to American provocation:
“What happened was the product of the US military’s adventurism to create a passage for ships to illegally pass through [the Strait of Hormuz. The US military must be held accountable for it.”
UPDATE 0902 GMT:
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had a “fierce” argument with the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, in Washington last month over her comments about the US-Israel War on Iran, according to “people familiar with the situation”.
Reeves, in Washington for the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund, said in a TV interview on April 15 that the goals of the war had “never been clear”. She was “not convinced” that “we are safer today than we were a few weeks ago”.
Later that day Bessent berated Reeves over the remarks. He insisted the world was safer, portraying Iran launching a nuclear attack on London.
Reeves responded that she did not work for him and disliked how he had spoken to her. She reiterated her comments.
A UK official said, “Rachel has been frank — in private and in public — about the mistakes of the war and the economic cost.”
The temporary ceasefire in the US-Israel War on Iran unravelled on Monday, as both the Trump camp and the Iranian regime resorted to force in and near the Strait of Hormuz.
A day after proclaiming “Project Freedom” to guide shipping through the waterway, the US military said its helicopters have destroyed six Iranian small boats. American forces intercepted cruise missiles and drones fired at ships and commercial vessels.
The head of US Central Command, Adm. Bradley Cooper, “strongly advised” Iranian units to remain clear of US military assets. But Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed it struck a US Navy frigate with two missiles as the vessel attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Each side denied the claims of the other. The Iranians also rejected the US military’s statement that two American-flagged ships passed through the Strait. However, the shipping giant Maersk confirmed that one of its US-flagged container vessels had successfully transitted under American protection.
The Iranians hit a South Korean-operated, Panamanian-flagged vessel, HMM Namu, setting the engine room afire.
The vessel was struck in port on the UAE coast. South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said no casualties were reported among the crew of six South Koreans and 18 foreign nationals.
South Korea’s Presidential office convened a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the incident.
The UAE said air defenses engaged 15 Iranian missiles and four drones, the first attack on a Gulf State since the ceasefire was declared last month. A fire broke out in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, the largest in the Emirates.
Iran’s military denied that it fired; however, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a warning.
Events in Hormuz make clear that there's no military solution to a political crisis.
As talks are making progress with Pakistan's gracious effort, the U.S. should be wary of being dragged back into quagmire by ill-wishers. So should the UAE.
Project Freedom is Project Deadlock.

Saudi Arabia expressed its “condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the Iranian targeting… of civilian and economic facilities in the brotherly United Arab Emirates, as well as a vessel belonging to an Emirati company”.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry affirmed its solidarity with the UAE and called on Iran to stop the attacks and “respect the principles of good neighborliness”.
India said, “The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable. We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians.”

And Scott Lucas, who usually flies off the handle when Trump makes similar statement has nothing to say about this murderous regime’s claim whome attacks UAE first thing in the morning, on the same day as this statement is made.
Anonymous,
Perhaps you missed our coverage of the Iranian attacks on UAE throughout Monday?
