I joined Times Radio’s Trump Report on Tuesday for a 34-minute analysis of threats from the Trump Administration, beginning with the risky behavior of unqualified Defense Secretary and TV presenter Pete Hegseth and continuing with the attempt by the reality TV star Donald Trump to seize control of US universities.
I offer no sympathy for Hegseth over the revelation that he started a Signal chat with his wife, friends, and associates over US attack plans against the Houthis who control most of Yemen.
What are you doing, discussing sensitive plans with people just because you want to be palled up with them, gossiping like you’re in the pub on Friday night?
This is part of a complete meltdown at the Pentagon, with four senior advisors to Hegseth fired or transferred in recent days, happening as Trump officials and Elon Musk try to purge thousands of staff and install Trump loyalists.
The Trump Administration is a threat to national security because it cannot run the Pentagon effectively, and it is not interested in running the Pentagon effectively — Donald Trump has had it in for the military for years.
Along the way, I discuss the curious case of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, carrying $3,000 in cash, falling victim to a thief in a Washington D.C. restaurant.
