As the European Union moves towards a phaseout of imports of Russian oil, I joined Turkey’s TRT World to analyze whether the EU can go farther with a cutoff of all Russian energy supplies.

We discuss the EU response to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the position with imports in the past and now, and the timetable for a possible halt — oil by the end of 2022 and gas by 2024.
