World Unfiltered, produced by EA and Deep Dive Politics, returns for Season 2 — and we’ve got a new partner: the Turkish analysts and activists of Daktilo 1984.

We begin the season with an hour-long discussion of the current Turkish situation, as the country faces economic crises linked to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s centralization of power.

Taking us through the problems and possibilities are Dr. Özge Öner of Cambridge University, Dr. Burak Bilgehan Özpek of Ankara’s TOBB University, and Dr. Berk Esen of Sabanci University.

The conversation begins with a collapsing Turkish currency and Erdoğan’s pursuit of autocracy — but by the end, there’s space for a bit of optimism.
