I joined Monocle 24’s Andrew Mueller to review President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw US forces from Afghanistan by September 11 — and to ask some questions about the uncertainties for Afghans.

It’s a gamble setting this timetable for US troops to withdraw with no clarity on where we are with the attempted political resolution in Afghanistan.

This is not a single country, 20 years after the Taliban were forced out of Kabul, with the Taliban controlling certain areas, the Afghan Government controlling the capital, and other groups controlling other parts.
