In our latest 15-minute Week in Review, I joined talkRADIO’s Darryl Morris to go beyond the Brexit shambles to consider wider issues — no less than a historic moment in the UK system with its unwritten Constitution and symbolic monarchy.

Listen from 19:23 in 0100-0130 Segment

Starting with the deceptive statements — some might say “lies” — of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, we look at a UK Supreme Court proceeding which may rule on the balance of power between the executive and Parliament.

We consider that Johnson may have misled Queen Elizabeth II and that his predecessor David Cameron urged the monarch to intervene in the 2014 Scottish independence referendum.

That leads to discussion of the tension in the UK system at this critical point: the appearance of an influential Queen v. the reality that she can or will do very little on not only Brexit but all other issues.

What we have is possibly the biggest Constitutional crisis, for a country that does not have a Constitution, since the 17th century.
