I joined Monocle 24’s Andrew Mueller on Monday to explain how, although the prospect of military confrontation has receded, the US is stepping up “maximum pressure” on Iran through economic punishment.

We consider whether the mediation of countries such as Germany could ease the situation, why Donald Trump will never get a face-to-face summit with the Supreme Leader, and if Iran as well as the US bears responsibility for the tensions that have damaged its economy.
