Any hope that the regime would ease its campaign of bombing insurgent-held areas of Aleppo, killing hundreds of civilians, was dashed on Sunday with more airstrikes.
Activists, supported by videos, said dozens of people died in the 9th straight day of the bombardment.
Attacks on the Masaken Hanano neighborhood hit a second-hand market, a two-story building, a main road, and a bus. Warplanes also bombed “barrel bombs” — large cylinders or oil drums filled with explosives — on towns near Aleppo.

More than 300 people, almost all civilians, have been killed since December 14 by the airstrikes.
The Local Coordination Committees reported that 166 people died across Syria on Sunday, the highest figure in the last nine days. Of the deaths, 92 were in Aleppo Province, and 31 in Damascus and its suburbs, and 24 in Daraa Province.
