Monday’s Coverage: Zelensky — Russia Fires 800 Jet-Powered Drones in 4 Days

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with Donald Trump’s envoys, real estate developer Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, on Monday.

Zelensky posted about a “detailed and constructive conversation”, as he sought to confirms the dates for the envoys’ first visit to Ukraine: “Such a trip would be highly beneficial for hammering out solutions for peace.”

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at the G20 finance leaders’ summit in North Carolina. Bessent reportedly said no economic relief for Russia is ‌possible ‌until its invasion ends.


ORIGINAL ENTRY: At least eight civilians have been murdered in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv by the sixth consecutive day of Russian aerial attacks.

Air defenses fought drones late into Monday, and Russia fired ballistic missiles on the capital overnight.

Seven of the victims were slain in a ballistic missile attack on a railway depot and facilities. Si were railway workers.

Five people were injured in the city, and eight others in the Kyiv region. Earlier on Monday, at least seven civilians were murdered and 45 wounded.

The air raid alert sounded at 7:46 p.m. and fires were reported from 9:30 p.m., including in the Darnytskyi, Solomyanskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts.

Further alerts were declared at 11:32 p.m. and 2:10 a.m. Dozens of explosions shook the capital from 2:23 a.m. through 2:34 a.m.

At least seven people were slain at two locations in the Darnytskyi district, and one was killed in the Holosiivskyi district by a strike on a non-residential” building.
