EA on International Media: A Return to US War on Iran?
I joined Byline Times’ Adrian Goldberg on Wednesday to analyze the renewal of US strikes on Iran, Iranian retaliation, and “uncontained war” spreading across the Middle East.
While I am not sure that this is Adrian’s “forever war” — I think the Trump camp will eventually bow to domestic pressure, economic consequences, and military limits before November’s Congressional elections — I share his concern at the expansion of the war in recent days throughout the Gulf States, Jordan, and Egypt. That includes the possibility of the cut-off of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, from the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, as well as the Strait of Hormuz.
We also chat about the consequences of the war for other countries such as China and Russia. While Beijing is seeking political advantage, the Kremlin is hindering its 53-month invasion of Ukraine with its backing of Iran.
