EA on LBC: Ukraine’s Attacks Ruin Putin’s St. Petersburg Party

I joined Times Radio’s Maddie Hale on Monday afternoon for a 25-minute analysis of how Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky are outmaneuvering Russia and Vladimir Putin on all fronts: military, economic, political, and psychological.

We begin with Ukrainian strikes, bookending the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, that not only caused significant damage to energy and military facilities but also overshadowed Putin’s showcase event.

I link that to the growing economic pressure on the Kremlin, with declining Government revenues, cuts in non-military spending, and rationing of gasoline in some areas.

I work through Zelensky’s political initiatives, including an open letter to Putin calling for a face-to-face meeting.

And I return to the military sphere to look at Putin seeking more men for the stalled frontlines — and why this is unlikely to make a difference.
