The #1 Source of Britain’s Vulnerability? Its Civic Society
Last week I commented on a debate, hosted by Poland’s TVP World, about whether the European Union should accept new members, including Ukraine.
Afterwards, I chatted with host Małgorzata Bonikowska from the Centre of International Relations about the one country that left the EU: the UK, which just marked the 10th anniversary of the Brexit referendum.
I consider the political, social, and economic damage and evaluate if there is a way back.
The Brexit vote was not a vote based on economic considerations. It wasn’t based on effective political analysis.
It was an emotive decision. Part of that emotion was “the Europeans are always ripping us off, the Europeans are always telling us what to do”.
