EA-Times Radio VideoCast: The “Brutal Silence” Exposing Trump’s Failing Iran War
I joined the Irish Independent’s Indo Daily podcast on Thursday to analyze if Secretary of State Marco Rubio, eyeing a Presidential run in 2028, can benefit from the Trump Administration’s failing war on Iran.
First, I set out the latest in the war. I consider the maneuvers around Iran’s proposed framework deal, with the Trump camp almost confirming it last weekend and then pulling back amid criticism that they are conceding too much to Tehran.
Then I note why Rubio, with little involvement in the opening weeks of the war, has been prominent recently. His tactic could work if there is relief over a framework deal, even giving Iran’s success in defining the terms, but he could suffer if Donald Trump does not confirm the long-term ceasefire.
What does this mean for an Administration where Vice President J.D. Vance is also hoping to succeed Trump?
Iran rebuilding missile production faster than expected:https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/report-iran-rebuilding-missile-production-faster-than-expected/
“Iran has resumed production of ballistic missiles, launchers and other critical weapons systems far faster than initially expected following the recent war with Israel and the United States, according to a report by Channel 12 citing updated US intelligence assessments and a senior Israeli official. According to the report, Tehran has restarted manufacturing using surviving components, improvised underground facilities, and partially restored production lines, with assistance from Russia and China. The report says Israeli defense officials now assess Iran could rebuild its drone capabilities within months and significantly ramp up ballistic missile production within about a year, or possibly sooner.”
If true, this would show the air campaign majorly failed in its central objective to degrade Iran’s military-industrial base.
