I joined France 24’s William Hilderbrandt on Saturday to call out Donald Trump’s blasphemy, including his diatribes against Pope Leo XIV and presentation of himself as AI Jesus.
I get full and frank:
This is a man who has never been a practicing Christian; who has been convicted of sexual assault; who has been convicted of fraud, who has repeatedly committed adultery; who has borne false witness on a daily basis; and who has carried out killings.
If you do a checklist on the 10 Commandments. I’ll give Donald Trump a pass on honoring his father and mother, but he has repeatedly broken the other 9….
And, as with his invective against Pope Leo, he has resorted to insult and blasphemy.

ORIGINAL ENTRY, APRIL 14: I joined RTE’s Behind The Story podcast on Monday for a 20-minute examination of Donald Trump’s unhinged blasphemy, attacking Pope Leo XIV and posting an AI image of himself as a Jesus figure healing the sick.
Speaking with Fran McNulty, I evaluate the combination of the conniving and irrational in Trump’s reaction to the Pope’s call for peace and an end to the “ideolatry of ego and money”.
Asked if Trump “even understands what the Pope does”, I reply:
Donald Trump’s reality is Donald Trump and what is good for his ego. He fundamentally is a bully.
If someone challenges him, he doesn’t care if that person is a politician, a general, or the Pope. He is going to insult all of them.
Donald Trump “talks ugly” each and every day. And that doesn’t rely on a knowledge of what anyone else does.
I consider if the blasphemy will affect Trump’s domestic support, in combination with the deadly muddle of the US-Israel Wars on Iran and Lebanon.
But first, I look at the Trumpist’s latest ploy, trying to end Tehran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz with a blockade on Iranian ports and threats to seize ships using them.

Donald Trump won in a landslide in 2024 getting as much as 77.3 million votes. He seems intent on not solving domestic problems, as he promised, but going on foreign military adventures in Nigeria, Venezuela, Iran and, soon, Cuba.
