The Trump Administration spent up to $45 million on the military display, but only a small audience showed up for the soldiers, the tanks, and their purported Commander-in-Chief.

I think there were more people in the pub in northwest Ireland where I was listening to music than there were listening to Donald Trump.

There wasn’t that much enthusiasm, either for the 250th anniversary of the US Army or for Trump’s ego.

Meanwhile, more than 12 million marched in “No Kings” protests across the US, even as some gatherings were cancelled or limited after a gunman killed one Minnesota State representative and wounded another.

We also discuss Thursday’s assault on US Sen. Alex Padilla of California. As he tried to question Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem at her PR event extolling the detentions and disappearances of migrants and asylum seekers, he was dragged away, pushed to the ground, and handcuffed by security.
