Iran’s Supreme Leader, Donald Trump, and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu

EA on WION: Israel-Iran — Will A Tenuous Ceasefire Hold?

Trump Administration Scrambles Over Assessment of Limited Damage to Iran’s Nuclear Sites

I joined Times Radio’s Trump Report on Thursday for a 35-minute special on the state of the war/ceasefire between Israel and Iran, focusing on the threat of three egos: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Donald Trump.

Host Maddie Hale and I begin with the Supreme Leader’s threat to Tuesday’s ceasefire with a speech that could antagonize Trump: “It’s one thing to take a victory lap when you have been pummelled for the past two weeks. It’s another to take a victory lap inviting folks to pummel you again.<"

I deep dive again into the story of how Trump switched within 48 hours from “bunker buster” bombing of Iran to declaring a ceasefire without consulting the Israelis: a story of how he was manipulated by Iran, Qatar, France, and members of his Administration.

I consider if the US and Iran will return to the negotiating table and the likely obstacle that Washington will demand Tehran give up its civil nuclear program — a demand that the Iranian regime will never accept.

And I carefully walk through the facts to cut through the spin on the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.

What we are talking about is getting back to the nuclear agreement of 2015.

How did that unravel 10 years later with an Israeli war on Iran, joined by the US? Because of the egos of three people.

And who undermined the 2015 agreement? Donald Trump.
