Ukraine War, Day 1,110: Trump Administration Vetoes G7 Proposal v. Russia’s “Shadow Fleet”

I spoke with UK and Indian outlets this weekend about Europe’s attempts to fill the gap left by the Trump Administration’s cutoff of assistance to Ukraine amid Russia’s 36 1/2-month invasion.

I detail the extent of Donald Trump’s tilt towards Vladimir Putin, and explain how Europeans are urgently pursuing capabilities to ensure that Kyiv is not overrun by its neighbor.

Listen to BBC Radio Scotland from 14:26

I join independent Russian analyst Andrei Otalski in discussion of Putin’s perception of the shift in US foreign policy, the extent of Europe’s ability to maintain defense of Ukraine, and Donald Trump’s breaking of the 84-year alliance with Europe.

This is not just a breaking of established rules. The Trump Administration is trampling them underfoot, and sacrficing those whose lives depend on those rules.

As the hard-right, pro-Trump GB “News” wobbles because of his embrace of Putin, I set out the Administration’s actions this week and Trump’s endorsement of Russia’s attacks.

At the end of the day, Trump likes Putin and he doesn’t like Volodymyr Zelensky.

With Trump, politics isn’t about security: Ukraine’s security, Europe’s security, even the UK’s security. It’s about what Trump feels personally.

Watch India’s News 9

I discuss, with News9 Plus’s Editor Sandeep Unnithan, the next steps for Europe and whether it can pull the Trump Administration back into support of Ukraine against Russia’s invasion.

The other guest, speaking from Moscow, is pro-Kremlin activist Fred Weir.
