EA on International Media: Trump and Musk Try To Break the US Government

Ukraine War, Day 1,109: Trump on Putin’s Mass Killing — “He Is Doing What Anybody Else Would Do”

I joined Times Radio’s Maddie Hale on Friday for a 30-minute Trump Report.

I analyze the first sign of tension between Donald Trump and his unelected co-President Elon Musk, their ongoing destruction of US agencies and society, and Trump’s support of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

I begin by evaluating the story of Trump Administration officials meeting opposition Ukrainian politicians, amid signs that some Trumpists are trying to remove Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky — but also as other officials, including Trump’s envoy Keith Kellogg, were trying to maintain some support for Kyiv.

I deal with Trumpist disinformation, lined up with the Kremlin, seeking to undermine Zelensky. And I note how the campaign has actually strengthened the President with Ukrainians.

I discuss European efforts to maintain Ukraine’s resistance despite the departure of Trump.

Then I evaluate the report that Trump has overruled Musk’s hiring and firing of Federal employees, saying this is a matter for Cabinet secretaries.

This is a race against time. Which will happen first: Donald Trump and Elon Musk will complete ravage US agencies or will the reality of that destruction take over?

A bully can punch you in the nose. But what happens when reality punches the bully?
