US Election 2024: This Is Not Normal

EA on BBC: Nigel Farage’s Foreign Interference in the US Election

UPDATE, OCT 29:

I joined Pakistan’s PTV World on Monday for a 32-minute discussion of what a Kamala Harris Presidency or one of Donald Trump would mean for US foreign policy and the state of the world.

The other panellist is Michael Kugelman of the Wilson Center.

My starting point:

With Kamala Harris, you will have the adults in the room and the rules of the game.

With Donald Trump, there is no guarantee of adults in the room. And the only rule is what Trump thinks makes him look good.

ORIGINAL ENTRY, OCT 25:

I joined Turkey’s ANews and Saudi Arabia’s Al Arabiya to analyze the differences on foreign policy between the two US Presidential candidates, Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

I also evaluate Trump’s threat to stability both at home and abroad.

Speaking with the Turkish outlet on Thursday morning, I summarize the general difference between Harris and Trump: “With Harris, you have adults in the room and rules of the game. With Trump you have neither.”

Then I consider specific areas such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, and the treatment of allies and autocrats.
