(L to R): Candidates Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy at the 2nd Republican Presidential Debate, Simi Valley, California, September 27, 2023 (Justin Sullivan/Getty)

I joined BBC Radio Ulster’s William Crawley on Thursday to analyze the significance of a ruling, by New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron, that Donald Trump and the Trump Organization engaged in “systematic fraud”.

I explain the effect of the removal of the Trump Organization’s business license in New York State and some of Trump’s properties going into receivership.

Then I move to the second Republican Presidential Debate: the seven candidates (none of them named Trump); the issues — or rather the misinformation, falsehoods, or diversions around the issues — and the prospects for January’s first GOP contest in the Iowa caucuses.

The other participants are Republican activist Greg Swenson and David McCann of the Irish News.
