In a 10-minute analysis, I spoke with BBC Radio Kent on Thursday about the speeches of Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama, including their call to action for the salavation of American democracy.

Listen to Discussion from 2:13.13

We discuss the vision of Harris and Obama, as well as their criticism of the failings of Donald Trump and his Administration. We look at the approach of Presidential nominee Joe Biden, and consider the options for a Trump campaign in the time of Coronavirus, economic downturn, and racial and social issues.

It’s important to note that Harris and Obama, after all the turmoil of the past few years, held out a message of hope….

American politics, even before Donald Trump, had become too much a politics of division rather than dialogue, of shouting rather than discussion. There needs to be an idea of an middle, that this does not have to be a win-lose.
