UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson (File)

In our latest 20-minute Week in Review, I spoke with talkRADIO’s Darryl Morris about a storm brewing in the UK from a combination of Coronavirus’s economic effects and the Government’s Brexit bungling.

We also discuss the US side of Coronavirus, with Donald Trump’s worry about a stock market fall and thus his 2020 re-election campaign.

I think the Johnson Government has been preparing for a No Deal Brexit — but Coronavirus complicates its attempt to play chicken with the European Union….

The UK is one country; the EU is 27. If there is No Deal, the EU will still have 27 members who are in a most favorable trade relationship, who will have an element of co-operation on their economic futures, who will have a strength in trading with the rest of the world.

The UK as 1 does not have that economic leverage. It is in a position of economic weakness.
