What am I doing at 11 pm tonight? I’m going to put Ode to Joy on the stereo, kick back with a bottle of fine French wine, and watch a Spanish film by the great director Pedro Almodovar.

My concern is those who are celebrating this as a victory lap on the bodies of supposedly defeated, who are made this a matter of war with a surrender rather than a critical moment in the country’s future.

We are not even at the halfway point in this process. We are only going into the tough negotiations with the European Union, and division is not the way to approach this.
