On October 29, Daniele Albertazzi was part of an invited roundtable on the “Europe in Question: Democratic Backsliding”, hosted by the University of Warwick’s Department of Politics and International Studies.

The discussion focused on the impact of new parties on the democratic process and what is perceived to be an increasing chasm between traditional parties and the electorate across Europe.

On December 9, Daniele will give a Jean Monnet lecture for the program “Challenges to European Integration: Multidisciplinary Perspectives” at Oxford Brookes University. Daniele’s contribution will focus on the recent transformation of the Italian League into a nationalist and nationwide party, and on how the European Union is seen in contemporary Italian political debates.
