Abu Abd, the leader of rebel forces in opposition-held Aleppo city in the final weeks before its capitulation, explains to Bilal Abdul Kareem of On the Ground News how the battle was lost to pro-Assad forces.

Abu Abd blames division among rebel factions and the withdrawal of support from “neighbors”, probably a reference to Turkey, which struck a deal with Russia for the pro-Assad reoccupation of Aleppo city in return for Moscow’s acceptance of a Turkish-rebel offensive against the Islamic State in Aleppo Province.
