Egypt’s Al-Tahrir TV announces:

The video you are about to see shows animated figures dancing, flying airplanes, and dropping bombs on what must be Syria….which suggests that what is happening in Syria today is premeditated.

The “smoking gun”? A spoof music video from “The Simpsons”, with the Party Posse — Bart, Milhouse, and Nelson flying aerial missions over an Arab country:

Pretty conclusive, if breathtaking in its advance planning: the episode is from 2001, a decade before the Syrian conflict started.

Except for one small flaw in logic.

The “Arab” vehicle bombed by Bart and Co. bears a three-color flag which is similar to that of the Assad regime.

But the official Syrian flag has only two stars. The flag in the video has three: just like the flag of the Syrian Revolution.

So the nefarious US agents from The Simpsons are not creating an opposition. They are trying to destroy it — obviously a clever conspiracy of secret American support for President Assad.

It’s a twist in the tale that leads to a must-watch 45 seconds of confused explanation by the anchorwoman.
