EA on DW News: Trump Camp’s Meltdown Begins After Democrat “Blue Tsunami”
Speaking from a parking lot in Ireland on Friday night, I joined Pakistan TV’s Sana Maqbool to examine the possibility of talks to end the US War on Iran, following the Trump camp’s heavy defeats in midterm elections.
I set out the vote’s significance for Vice President J.D. Vance, an opponent of the war from its launch, as he proposed the reopening of talks to Iran.
I consider the possibility that the US and Iran may converge on a settlement allowing Tehran to continue the enrichment of uranium, albeit at lower levels, in exchange for significant relief from US sanctions.
And I note the irony: that resolution would be similar to the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1 Powers, including the US — the agreement that Donald Trump ripped up in 2018.
