EA-Times Radio VideoCast: Trump — When Wannabe Dictator and Economic Moron Intersect
I joined India’s NDTV on Friday to analyze Donald Trump’s latest tariffs chaos, a proclamation of 10% to 15% duties on 85 countries.
I expose the pretext of the new charges: a claim that they are because of exports to the US which rely on forced labor.
I explain that the Trump camp are still trying to circumvent the Supreme Court ruling in February that threw out Trump’s original “Liberation Day” tariffs from April 2025. With the 150-day limit on their stopgap expiring on Friday, they had to come up with another excuse.
But will it hold? And can Trump continue to impose ad hoc punishments, such as the 25% duty on Brazil and 50% on Canada in recent days?
