EA-Ukraine VideoCast: Kyiv’s Drone Strikes Rock Moscow
I joined Times Radio’s Louis Sykes on Friday to analyze the significance of Ukraine’s escalating drone and missile strikes inside Russia, pushing back the Kremlin’s 51-month full-scale invasion.
I begin with the Kremlin’s posturing amid its concern over the strikes, through nuclear weapons drills with its neighbor Belarus. I explain why that pose is more bluster than substance: “Russia, when it’s cornered and isn’t going anywhere, will elevate this nuclear threat.”
I examine the story of Ukrainian drones falling on the territory of Baltic States — Kyiv’s error or Russia’s redirection of the UAVs? — while concluding that it is unlikely to shake European support for Ukraine.
Then I explore the effect of Ukraine’s strikes inside Russia: “At the very least, Russian air defense systems can’t cope with this.”
But how long will Vladimir Putin insist on his invasion and surrender of more Ukrainian territory before he reluctantly has to accept a ceasefire on current frontlines?
In the next six to nine months, if Russia can’t win this on the frontlines, if they can’t win this in the air, they have to try and win this politically.
Which brings us back to the Americans.
