UPDATE 1706 GMT:
In a sharp departure from the pro-Kremlin Orban Administration that left office earlier this month, Hungary’s Magyar Government has condemned Russia’s mass killing of civilians with missile and drone strikes.
Foreign Minister Anita Orban —- no relation to former Prime Minister Viktor Orban —- posted:
Russia’s brutal overnight attack on Kyiv is another horrifying reminder of the human cost of this war. Civilians should never wake up to missiles, drones, explosions, and fear for their lives. Homes destroyed, families shattered, innocent people killed and injured – this is unacceptable.
We strongly condemn the attack and stand by the victims and the people of Ukraine.
UPDATE 1322 GMT:
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has updated the toll from Russia’s overnight strikes across Ukraine to at least four civilians killed and more than 100 injured.
Around 30 buildings have been destroyed or damaged in Kyiv.
I am grateful to everyone who is not staying silent about what Russia is doing. They are waging war solely against our people – against our memory, our history, and everything that makes up normal human life. It is important that Russia understands that they will be held accountable for all these crimes.
I am grateful to all our services currently working at the sites of Russia’s overnight strikes: units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and municipal services. Everyone is acting as effectively as possible, given the scale of the attack and its consequences:… pic.twitter.com/m6hLSNeEJc

The toll has risen to two civilians murdered and at least 83 injured by Russia’s missile and drone attacks on and near Kyiv.
Ukraine’s Air Force confirmed that Russia launched 90 missiles and 600 drones.
The National Art Museum was damaged by a blast wave. The windows to the entrance of the Ukrainian House, one of the country’s leading cultural institutions, were damaged.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky posted:
Putin can’t even pronounce the word “hurrah” clearly anymore – slurs and mumbles – yet he is still vanquishing residential buildings with his missiles….
It is important that this does not pass without consequences for Russia. Today, everyone in the world who will not stay silent and chooses to help Ukraine is a defender of life.
Since last night, first responders and all necessary services have been working wherever needed. As of now, at least 83 people have been confirmed injured since midnight. Tragically, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families and loved ones.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky warned hours earlier that Russia was preparing an assault across the country, including for the possible use of its Oreshnik medium-range missile.
If Russia is allowed to destroy lives on such a scale, then no agreement will restrain other similar hatred-based regimes from aggression and strikes. We count on a response from the world.
Our intelligence services reported receiving data, including from American and European partners, about Russia preparing a strike with the Oreshnik missile. We are verifying this information.
We are seeing signs of preparation for a combined strike on Ukrainian territory,…
