I joined Germany’s DW News for a 50-minute special about political violence, Donald Trump, and the incident near Saturday night’s White House Correspondent Dinner.
Raphael Bossong of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs and I detail the interception of a gunman, two levels above the Dinner in the Washington Hilton’s ballroom.
I set the episode amid US political violence, including Trump’s incitement, and division v. dialogue in American society. I note the place of extremism, the effect of a priority on rhetoric over issues, and the lack of gun control.
