Joining India’s WION on Sunday, I analyze why US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard allied with the Kremlin against the US intelligence community’s assessment that Vladimir Putin still wants to seize all of Ukraine and other areas in Europe that were part of the Soviet Union.
After Reuters published an article about the assessment, Gabbard repeated Russia’s talking points on social media. She said the evlauation of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was “fomenting hysteria and fear among the people to get them to support the escalation of war, which is what NATO and the EU really want in order to pull the United States military directly into war with Russia”.
I set out the reality. It wasn’t Ukraine that invaded Russia on February 24, 2022. It was not NATO or the European Union. Rather, it was Putin who launched the full-scale invasion to conquer Ukraine, trying to seize Kyiv and capturing or killing President Volodymyr Zelensky and his ministers.
Then I remind viewers about Gabbard’s long-term promotion, before she took office, of the Kremlin’s lines from Ukraine to Europe to Syria. I explain that former General Michael Flynn, who echoed Gabbard’s statement, is a disgraced Trumpist conspiracy theorist who had to resign over his collusion with the Russians.

The Feb 2014 violent coup, that was underwritten by EU-NATO-white house operatives, overthrew the govt of the day in kyiv, which inmediately sparked bloody clashes.
That string of bloody phrcking events resulted in a fascist regime with a clear Nazi outlook installed in kyiv and it declared a ATO against russian- speaking people in Ukraine who were labeled terrorists.
The ATO was directed by Azov elements who paraded Nazi emblems and nationalist-fascist slogans while employing massive heavy firepower against anti-coup activists.
It was nothing less than a bloody pogrom against russian-speaking inhabitants, and the slaughter was all largely one-way traffic, until the fascist elements were stopped at the battle of horlivka.
Despite that setback, the fascists rolled up other places in the eastern sector, right to ilovaisk, where allegedly Russian forces provided help.
The fascists were given a bloody nose, and from thrn, setbacks at luhansk and Donetsk airports followed.
Thus the fascists failed at the last mile, it was one attack too far, and by early 2025, the fascists or nazis, were backpedalling. Thrn came the Minsk agreements that only provided a breather for kyiv, to recuperate and regroup.
Meanwhile, trump (first term) decided, on advice from handlers, to provide missiles to Kyiv.
Joe Biden, who came after trump, continued to supply weapons, and dogbarked Putin, together with stoltenberg and other people including western media.
After numerous warnings which were received with sneers and more verbal provocations, Moscow launched its SMO in Feb 2022.

The following question should be asked: Did NATO provoke Russia by baiting it into Ukraine or was Russia’s invasion unprovoked as the NATO member governments and news media claim? This is now being discussed and debated in American public discourse.
