I joined Ukrainian journalists Daniel Tkiie and Sofia Nazarenko on Thursday for a 26-minute analysis of how Donald Trump is selling out Ukraine to pursue economic deals with Russia.
I highlight the Kremlin’s manipulation of the Trump camp through envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. I set out the $22 billion offer to sell the overseas assets of Russia’s energy giant Lukoil — to a a coaltion linked to Trump, Witkoff, and Kushner. I note Vladimir Putin’s proposal of a joint project to renew Nord Stream gas pipelines, with more potential profits for the Trump camp.
The interview was recorded before Donald Trump announced the deal, undermining US sanctions, to purchase Russia’s diesel fuel.
