A tanker burns after a Russian strike in the Black Sea, October 2026

EA-Trump Report VideoCast: The Week in TrumpLand — Trump Sells Out Ukraine and Bails Out Russia

I joined Australia’s The World on Wednesday to analyze Russia’s strikes on shipping in the Black Sea, Ukraine’s counter-attacks in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, and the effect on global security.

Watch from 8:41

I offer the context, going back to Russia’s blockade of Ukraine’s Black Sea ports in 2022 and how that was broken. I examine the spread of Russian attacks into the territorial waters of countries such as Bulgaria and Romania. And, with the Trump camp abandoning Ukraine, I consider how the international community can support Kyiv.

I also examine the Trump camp’s shift towards Russia, amid possible economic deals with the Kremlin, against Ukraine: “The Russians have clearly compromised the Trump Administration.”
