EA on WION: Hegseth’s Loyalty Meeting for US Commanders

UPDATE, APRIL 5:

I spoke with Matt Frei on London’s LBC on Saturday about Donald Trump’s firing of Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Trumpist purge of America’s top generals.

Listen to Discussion from 1:51.21

We are in this unprecedented moment in US history where the Justice Department is not there to serve the American people or the American Constitution. It is to be turned into a loyalist outpost for Donald Trump or it is to be broken.

Bondi did her best to distort and pervert the Justice Department to serve Trump but that didn’t protect her from his wrath when he is upset that he hasn’t gotten his way.

And on Friday’s firing of the generals, including Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George; Gen. David Hodne, head of the Transformation and Training Command; and the US military’s chaplain Gen. William Green:

Well before the US-Israel War on Iran, during the 2024 Presidential campaign, Project 2025 — the blueprint for a second-term Trump Administration — made clear that they were going to purge the generals on the grounds that they were not sufficiently loyalist.

Trump and his inner circle want generals who are not there first and foremost for the American military or American security. They want political servants.

ORIGINAL ENTRY, APRIL 3: I joined RTE Radio 1’s Morning Ireland on Friday to evaluate two important developments in the Trumpist chaos in Washington.

I explain Donald Trump’s firing of his loyal political servant, Attorney General Pam Bondi. In the end, she could not carry out his demand to convict his enemies, such as former FBI Director James Comey and New York State Attorney General Letitia James.

And despite her arrogance, stonewalling, and insult of legislators and survivors, she could not bury the scandal over the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Then I take on a possibly more important story: the Trump purge of the US military, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth firing more commanders including Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George.
