UPDATE 1238 GMT:
At least 15 civilians have been killed and 57 injured by Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past day.
In addition to the nine fatalities in the Kyiv region (see 1212 GMT), one person was slain and nine injured in the Kherson region in the south. Two residents were killed and five wounded in the Donetsk region in the east. At least three were murdered and 11 injured, including four teenagers, in the Chernhiv region in the north.
UPDATE 1212 GMT:
The toll has risen to eight murdered and 33 injured, including four children, by Russia’s overnight strikes on Kyiv.
This strike was about 500-600 metres away from the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv. I’ve never known them to hit so close before.

ORIGINAL ENTRY: At least six civilians have been murdered and 19 injured by overnight Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.
Residents and journalists heard explosions, as kamikaze drones flew overhead, from around 1 a.m. Louder blasts from ballistic missiles were heard an hour later. The attacks lasted until around 4:30 a.m.
The heaviest damage was in the Shevchenkivskyi district, when a five-story building partially collapsed. At least six people were killed and more may be trapped under the rubble.
Debris fell in 25 sites across Kyiv and the surrounding region. a woman was killed and eight civilians injured in Bila Tserkva. Casualties were also reported in Bucha, northwest of Kyiv city.
In the capital, a high-rise apartment building, an exit at the Sviatoshyn metro station, and a nearby bus shelter were among the damaged sites. A fire across 800 square meters was set at a four-story office building in the Solomianskyi district.

The Ukraine Air Force said Russia fired 352 drones, 11 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and five Iskander-K cruise missiles. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said preliminary information indicated North Korean-made missiles were also launched.
Zelensky commented:
Everyone in countries neighbouring Russia, Iran, and North Korea should be thinking carefully about whether they could protect lives if this coalition of murderers persists and continues spreading their terror.
Today, during my visit to the United Kingdom, I will be discussing this very issue with our partners — our defense, which must become the foundation of a much stronger collective security. We will also be negotiating new and powerful steps to increase pressure on Russia for this war and to put an end to the strikes.
