In a 55-minute special, I joined Times Radio’s Darryl Morris early Sunday to analyze politics and music in the UK and the US.
Listen to Discussion
I being with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s U-turn on welfare cuts, as the Government tries to cover the Brexit gap in revenues. With Morris playing devil’s advocate that it is “just politics” for Governments to pull back on the eve of a Parliamentary vote, I note that this was a bad policy which many people knew should have been scrapped months ago.
I turn to the right-wing UK media’s faux outrage over political statements at the Glastonbury music festival by acts such as Kneecap and Bob Vylan. The real issue, if they wish to express concern, is Israel’s daily mass murder in Gaza.
And I briefly note the Trump Administration’s demand that all applicants for international student visas hand over their social media accounts.
