EA on International Media: The Awful 1st 100 Days of Trump 2.0

In a 38-minute special, I joined a panel on Dublin NewsTalk’s Pat Kenny Show to review Donald Trump’s damage in the first 100 days of his second White House term — and to assess what we can do about the next 1,361.

The other panelists are Gina London, former CNN White House correspondent and Sunday Independent columnist, and T.J. Mulloy of Democrats Abroad Ireland.

This is no longer an Administration which is aspiring to be an authoritarian regime.

It is an authoritarian regime. So the “action” that Trump supporters promote is destruction.

Destruction of US agencies so they cannot be independent and do anything Trump does not like.

Then it goes after the courts: insult them, assail them on social media.

Then it goes after media, universities, NGOs.

This is the most serious domestic crisis in the US since 1865.

I evaluate why many Americans would vote for such a destructive man.

But Trump is no longer in opposition, he’s in power.

For all the destruction he is causing, if people don’t see their lives getting better in jobs, prices, eggs on the shelves, petrol in their cars, then you’ll see his disapproval rating soar.

And we discuss Trump’s effect abroad, from tariffs damage to the breaking of alliances.
