The Lack of Intelligence in Trump’s “America First”
I joined Times Radio’s Kate McCann on Monday morning to cut through Donald Trump’s fantasy that he can pursue a third term in the White House.
While noting that Trump is serious about wanting to be “President for Life”, I analyze how he is also diverting from the serious issues that have embroiled his Administration in the past week: the serious breach of national security with classified information circulated on Signal; signs of economic downturn; and complications over Elon Musk’s attempt to decimate US agencies.
I explain why Trump is barred, and will be in the future, from running again for the Presidency and why wild alternatives — J.D. Vance winning the White House and handing it to Trump — are not feasible.
Then I get to the dangerous reality: how Trump will try to be the power behind the Presidency, hoping to rule over the US Government that he is destroying in his second term.
This is a race against time. Will Trump and Musk succeed in bending the US system to their will? Or do the American people start to rebel amid the effects of the breaking of that system?
