I joined Times Radio’s James Hanson on Monday for a 26-minute special analysis of the state of Russia’s 32-month invasion of Ukraine.

Using information from well-placed sources inside and outside Ukraine, I lay out the possible scenario for the Zelenskiy Government and its Victory Plan.

If Kyiv can get an invitation to join NATO, then it could join brokered negotiations with Russia. The outcome would be a settlement guaranteeing Ukrainian security and economic recovery, while conceding Russian occupation of part of the east and south, at least in the short term.

The Zelenskiy Government accepts the setback of those areas under Russian control while it plays the longer game.

After World War II, West Germany had to endure division while — with assistance from much of the world — it gathered political, economic, and military strength versus East Germany and the Soviet bloc.

More than 40 years, Germany was reunified. Would it take the same time for Ukraine?
