Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will continue to lead the criminal case against Donald Trump, following a ruling on Friday by Judge Scott McAfee

I joined GB News on Saturday to analyze the latest developments in Georgia’s 10 felony counts of racketeering against Donald Trump, over his attempt to overturn the 2020 Presidential election in the state.

I explain why the trial will proceed after the Trump camp’s failure to remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from the case. Judge Scott McAfee ruled on Friday that special prosecutor Nathan Wade must be removed, because of his relationship with Willis, to avoid any “appearance of impropriety”. However, McAfee said that evidence had not been compromised and that Trump had not been denied due process of law.

Having pre-empted Trumpist exaggeration and distortion, I then reiterate why this is the most important American election in peacetime since 1865. Beyond the significant issues, it is a matter of “You can choose Donald Trump. Or you can choose the US system. There is no in-between.”
