I joined India’s WION News to knock back the propaganda line that other countries cannot afford to provide assistance to Ukraine.
The outlet puts up misleading arguments that the US and UK are in “economic crises” caused by the aid to Kyiv, with red herrings from the political fight in Washington over the Government debt limit to Britain’s Brexit-induced problems.
I set the record straight.
In the 15th month of Vladimir Putin’s invasion, Russia cannot advance any further — its offensive is exhausted.
The question is about a Ukrainian counter-offensive. For that counter-offensive, Kyiv must ensure it has supplies.
A day after Russia celebrated its #VictoryDay, the US and UK have vowed to continue supporting Ukraine until the 'successful conclusion' of war.@KatiePilbeamTV talks to @ScottLucas_EA for perspective

Putin can’t halt the military operation for the following reasons:
1. NATO continues to escalate, not only by pressuring a reluctant Ukraine to launch a counter-offensive; but by continuing to send more weapons — e.g. depleted uranium weapons and missiles with greater range, to strike military and civilian targets.
2. Because there’s too much pressure from the Russian government and the Russian people to escalate in response to NATO’s escalations. Putin is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
